Well, sometimes the best laid plans fall apart. I had hoped to really work on this blog over the winter, but that didnt happen, so now I am going to try again.

Still trying to decide what this blog is going to really be about, so I guess at this point it is going to be about life on a fiber farm and being creative with the things we produce.

At the start of February I signed up with Etsy.  In the past two weeks I have been getting a lot of traffic to my items and was even a featured store!  I mostly have raw fiber listed but have added some needled felted items.  I am also in the process of making a commissioned soft sculpture of a Samyoed.

Visited an Icelandic Sheep farm about a month ago with my sister and ended up buying a fleece.  Experimented with just washing it and then spinning it without carding it.  It turned out really unique, now trying to decide what to do with it.  I seem to do my project backwards, I decide on a project after the yarn is made.

Well, this is my first blog.  I have always thought it would be fun and finally took the plunge.  I am a married mother of  4 lovely children.

We have a family farm  with Alpacas and Shetland sheep.   I also breed and show Shetland Sheepdogs.  I am an avid photographer specializing in natural light photography.

I am learning about the usage of fiber from animal to end product and am  learning how to handspin both with a drop spindle and a wheel.  I have been doing some felting and 3 dimensional needle felting.  Yeah, I have a lot going on, all while working full time. :-)
